FAQ

No. Parking is included with all ticket options.

All campsites are first come. There are a limited number of RV electric and non-electric campsites. All tent camping is non-electric. Tent campers are welcome to camp by their cars in the parking area, in the pasture, around the pond, or in the woods which is a short hike. If you need help getting gear to your campsite, ask at the front gate when you arrive and our staff will accommodate you.

Campsites are all near the main entrance in the pasture and the pavilion is close. If you choose to camp in the woods, the walk is a little farther but there is a gravel path through the woods.

Stable Studios has nice, clean, accessible composting toilets. They are sustainable and environmentally friendly! Compost toilets do not smell and use sawdust instead of chemicals. Composting toilets make camping more enjoyable. The bathrooms also offer soap and running water. Wash your hands!

We welcome everyone to join us at the Shine On Community Campfire. Bring an instrument if you want to join the campfire jams. Private campfires are ONLY permitted if they are a contained, mobile firepit where the fire is not touching the ground. Firewood is available for purchase.

Beer will not be for sale but you are welcome to bring a cooler. No glass, please.

Whether skies are clear or cloudy—we are prepared to enjoy the eclipse together!

NASA’s 2024 Total Solar Eclipse Boradcast will be projected on a screen in the covered pavilion for Shine On Music Fest attendees to watch. And, the eclipse will be happening across the US at different times throughout the day. We are excited to follow along with NASA’s broadcast as they follow the path of totality until we get to experience it around 3 p.m.

There will not be another total solar eclipse visible in Indiana for 20 years. The eclipse will still happen even if we cannot see it clearly and we will experience it together!

Keep in mind that there is plenty to observe, even if it is cloudy, as our surroundings darken during the total solar eclipse. Nature behaves differently and temperatures drop when the sun is covered. Everyone who attends the Shine On Music Festival on Monday gets a pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses. If we are fortunate enough to have clear skies, we will be able to remove our glasses and view the sun’s spectacular corona for nearly 4 minutes!

Whatever the weather does, let’s experience the eclipse together and Shine On when it is over.

According to NASA’s map, Spencer, IN will experience total darkness during the 2024 total solar eclipse for 3 minutes and 59 seconds.

According to NASA, “Except during the brief total phase of a total solar eclipse, when the Moon completely blocks the Sun’s bright face, it is not safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection for solar viewing.”
Learn more about eclipse eye safety.

NOTE: Monday festival attendees will receive a pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses included with their ticket.

On the nights of Saturday 04/06 and Sunday 04/07, the moon will be a Waning Crescent with less than 10% illumination.

On the night of Monday, 04/08, it will be a new moon meaning that the moon will not be visible.

Check out NASA’s Daily Moon Guide for more details about moon phases.

Millions of visitors are expected to visit Indiana to view the total solar eclipse. Indiana is expecting heavy traffic and congestion as folks leave solar eclipse events near the path of totality. We strongly urge festival attendees to camp at Stable Studios Monday night. Guests who purchase our Monday Camping Add-on may stay through 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

INDOT, ISP urge drivers to start planning routes for day of total solar eclipse
